Successes: Glen Watts

On 6th March 2009, a committee consisting of Keith Nicholls, Director of the Sportspark, and Peter Earl, of The Peter Earl Foundation, recommended to the Foundation that the 2009 Sports Achievement Prize be awarded to Glen Watts.

Glen is a final year student at the School of Environmental Studies at UEA.

The Sports Achievement Prize was established to encourage students to maintain a balance between their academic studies and sporting activity during their time at UEA, and to reward exceptional sporting achievement and commitment.  Glen’s successes in the steeple chase and cross country at national level have been outstanding and it is his accomplishment on the field, together with his commitment to promoting the development of the Athletics Club under his presidency, that have earned him the Sports Achievement Award for 2009.

Glen was presented with the 2009 Sports Achievement Prize and a cheque for £500 by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Tom Ward, at the UEA Physical Education and Sport Annual Awards Dinner on the 1st April 2009.
