Premier Award

This Award will be awarded annually in the School of Medicine, Health Policy and Practice to encourage and recognise meritorious performance by an undergraduate medical student undertaking an intercalated MRes degree at UEA.

The value of the Award shall be £4,000.

Candidates for the Award will be short-listed by the relevant Board of Examiners on the basis of the dissertation submitted by eligible students upon completion of their intercalating year.  The Board of Examiners will advise the Award Panel of those candidates short-listed for the Award.

The Award Panel will comprise the Head of the Medical School, the Dean of the Faculty of Health and a Trustee of the Peter Earl Foundation.  The Award will be made to the candidate whose research is judged by the Award Panel to be the most likely to make a significant contribution to medical knowledge.

The Award winner will be notified after the submission of their dissertation in September and the Award presented at an event organised by the Faculty of Health. If in any year no candidate is judged to be of sufficient merit, the Award will not be made.
